Delorean Connect 2023

Welcome to the registration page for the 2023 Delorean Connect event. The primary goal of the inaugural Delorean Connect event is to gather owners and enthusiasts together, in person, for an opportunity to connect, have fun, show off your car, learn something new, meet old friends, and make new ones, in a one-day social event at a cool, unique venue.

For 2023, the event will be one full day and feature a show and shine-type car show, include museum entry, a tech talk with a featured guest speaker, a memorabilia and historical display, group meals, and plenty of free time to socialize and check out other owners' cars.

Hiller Aviation Museum is the host venue for 2023. You can find more information about the museum here: https://www.hiller.org/

The purchase of one ticket is required for each person attending. Limited to 50 people. Each ticket will include:

• Entry into the event for one person
• Museum entry pass
• Entry of one DeLorean vehicle into the show and shine (optional)
• Lunch (catered sandwiches and drinks)

If you require a special meal, please indicate this when you register.

Information and Schedule:

9am - 10am - Vehicle show and shine car show check-in - south- side parking lot at gate to rear ramp area

10am to 12:30pm - Show and shine car show in gated/enclosed ramp area. Museum opens and its guests can also access our cars. Free time to access museum exhibits.

12:30 to 1:30pm - Lunch in the Doyle conference room

1:30pm to 3:30pm - Tech Talk in Doyle conference room

This year's Tech Talk will feature a special guest speaker, Mr. Lake Speed Jr. Lake is an STLE Certified Lubrication Specialist & Oil Analyst.

Lake will share with us his extensive knowledge and valuable information about how both motor oils and fuels have changed (and continue to change) over the last 40 years since the DeLorean was produced in 1981/82. A lot has changed and continues to change, so this information is vital to all classic car owners, and especially us DeLorean owners. Most importantly, Lake will provide guidance for navigating these changing tides and protecting your engine for the long term, with the goal of keeping our cars on the road and running well for years to come. Keep the Dream Alive!

The son of a former NASCAR driver and World Karting Champion, Lake Speed Jr. holds both STLE CLS and OMA 1 certifications. While working for the Joe Gibbs Racing NASCAR team, Lake led a development team that employed the science of Tribology to NASCAR engines and drivetrains.

Following the sale of Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil (now known as Driven Racing Oil), Lake moved to Total Seal piston rings to continue the application of Tribology for the purpose of improving engine efficiency. Lake also owns and operates SPEEDiagnostix, which provides used oil analysis services.

Following Lake's presentation, we will have a short Q&A session.

3:30-5pm - Free time to tour the museum and connect with owners, check out the memorabilia exhibit in the Doyle conference room featuring old newspaper articles from San Jose Mercury News 1981 and 1982, DMC documents, original artworks and Northern California DeLorean owners' club documents.

5pm- 5:30pm - Event at Hiller ends, museum closes, cars roll out.

7pm - Offsite dinner at TBD location

Hotels: We will not have a coordinated hotel this year. There are plenty of hotels in the area around Hiller Museum for you to choose from, including one right next door.

Memorabilia Exhibit: We encourage you to bring anything of interest that is DeLorean-related to share with the other attendees. The exhibit will be indoor, in the conference room. Several Norcal members will provide historical documents and artwork to display.
